There is an exhibit at Columbia University that shows Park West Village:
ROBERT MOSES & THE MODERN CITY:
Slum Clearance and the Superblock Solution
This fascinating new exhibition includes Park West Village (first called Manhattantown) & 25 other NYC housing projects. Moses' urban renewal program from the 1950's became a national model, using Title 1 money from the Federal Housing Act of 1949. The exhibition includes photos of Park West Village and of the old neighborhood. We’ll explore how the existing open space concepts relate to new developments in Park West Village & elsewhere in NYC.
Call 212 749-1830, nyearnest@aol.com for further info & handicapped access. The Exhibit runs through April 14.
